Socket Plans Corporate Relocation
April 1998 - The Columbia downtown business district will be getting a new resident as Socket Internet Services plans to occupy the space at 29 South 8th Street recently vacated by Kinko’s.
“We’re growing, and we are out of space,” said George Pfenenger, President of Socket, confirming the move. The relocation will be gradual, a myriad of cabling and fiber will need to be rerouted or replaced. Continuous customer connectivity is the highest priority as the move progresses.
Plans are to provide walk in customers with a workstation where they can “experience the Internet”. The new office area will accommodate an expanding staff and equipment as the company progresses toward offering service in more communities. Continued expansion in Missouri as well as Kansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Texas are planned.
