Shelbina native receives award

Shelbina native Mark Thrasher was recently honored as the recipient of Socket's You Make The Difference award. Each month, the Missouri-based telephone and Internet provider asks its employees to nominate co-workers for the award and then vote for a winner who best reflects Socket's Core Values and Beliefs.

Thrasher joined the Socket team in June 2008 as a technical support agent and assisted customers with their technical questions and concerns. He recently transferred to the modem programming and shipping department where he ensures customers receive quality equipment quickly.

"I'm very proud to be among such great people every day and grateful to receive this award," said Thrasher. "I feel everyone at Socket deserves to be recognized for all the great work they do."

Thrasher moved to Columbia, Mo. in 2006 after graduating from Linn State Technical College. He enjoys the outdoors and spends his free time with his large family or helping his father build his house.

"Mark goes out of his way to meet a customer's demands," said a co-worker who nominated him for the award. "He goes the extra mile."
