Socket honors Fulton Native

Fulton native Brian Fitch was recently honored as the recipient of Socket's You Make The Difference award. Each month, the Missouri telephone and Internet provider asks its employees to nominate co-workers for the award and then vote on one winner who best reflects Socket's Core Values and Beliefs.

Fitch joined Socket in November 2005 as a technical support agent. He was quickly promoted and has held several positions before coming to his current title, business center supervisor.

"I feel there are at least a dozen other individuals who are equally deserving and who help me succeed each and every day," said Fitch. "I'm honored I was chosen by my peers and appreciate being selected."

Fitch graduated from Fulton High School in 2005 and moved to Columbia to attend the University of Missouri where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer science. He is celebrating his one-year anniversary with his wife, Erika, this summer. The couple recently purchased a house in Columbia, Mo., where they live with their dog, Bianca.

"He works fervently and tirelessly to ensure that his duties as business center supervisor are attended to," said a co-worker who nominated him for the award. "He is willing to do whatever it takes to keep Socket going and the customer up and running."
